Ayurvedic Walking Massage Workshop
A live, in-person learning experience in a unique bodywork practice.
A skill you can share with the people you love — or add to your professional bodywork repertoire.
Ayurvedic Walking Massage is a practical, hands-on bodywork practice that teaches you to use your feet as sensitive, precise massage tools. Learn a complete full-body sequence, give and receive massage in a supportive setting, and take home a skill that can bring more rest, care, and connection into everyday life.
Learn a skill of care and connection
Touch can be a simple and meaningful way to care for one another. This workshop is an opportunity to step away from everyday busyness, learn something practical with your body, and share an experience of giving and receiving.
You will learn a massage sequence you can use with friends, partners, family members, or clients. When you learn together with someone close to you, you can continue to practise afterwards—exchanging massages, building confidence, and creating more intentional moments of care and connection.
No previous experience of massage or Ayurveda is needed. Come with curiosity, a willingness to learn, and respect for the body.
What is Ayurvedic Walking Massage?
Ayurvedic Walking Massage is a traditional full-body massage practice from South India, associated with Ayurvedic and Siddha healing traditions. Instead of working primarily with the hands, the practitioner uses their feet to apply slow, controlled pressure across the body.
The practice begins at the feet and moves through a complete body sequence. The feet can become precise, responsive tools for working with broad, nourishing pressure, while allowing the practitioner to use their body weight with greater ease.
Traditionally, this form of massage is used to support relaxation, soften muscular tension, encourage circulation, improve mobility, and promote a sense of balance throughout the body. It is also understood in Ayurveda as a practice that supports the flow of prana, or vital energy.

Learn through practice
This is an experiential workshop: you will not only watch or listen, but learn through guided practice, giving and receiving the massage with other participants.
You will explore:
- How to use your feet with awareness, safety, and control.
- A practical full-body Ayurvedic Walking Massage sequence.
- How to work with pressure, pace, presence, and communication.
- Ways to make the experience comfortable and supportive for the person receiving.
- How to practise in a way that is sustainable for your own body.
The workshop is suitable for complete beginners who want to learn a meaningful skill to share with others. It is also suitable for massage therapists and bodyworkers who want to broaden their repertoire, offer a new form of full-body treatment, and reduce some of the repetitive demand placed on their hands and wrists.
The in-person workshop offers direct guidance, hands-on practice, and personal feedback as you learn the full Ayurvedic Walking Massage sequence. It is a supportive space to build confidence through both giving and receiving the massage.

If you live further away, cannot attend on the scheduled date, or would prefer to revisit each step at your own pace, an online Ayurvedic Walking Massage course is currently in development.
It will also be a valuable resource for past workshop participants who would like to refresh the sequence and continue developing their practice at home.
